I Pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. And to the Republic for which it stands; one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Wouldn’t it be great to have a nation united? There are many things that divide this nation: Politics, Racism, just to name a couple. The one thing that stands out the most now is COVID-19. There seems to be no agreement on the effects of it and what needs to be done to control and eventually end it.
Many things have been suggested and tried: isolation, social distancing, masks, frequent washing of hands and cover mouth when coughing and/or sneezing. It appears that the Delta variant had become manageable and then came Omicron. With Omicron came the stepped-up emphasis on vaccinations, including booster, making them mandatory, wearing of masks and avoiding large crowds. Including not eating at an indoor restaurant, and schools going back to virtual learning. But all of this does not seem to be working. Reported cases of Covid are increasing. Hospitals are again being over-crowded. The number of deaths is on the rise. What can we do?
You have heard the expression “when all else fails, read the instructions”. What we have tried so far has failed now let’s read the instructions.
King Solomon had built a Temple and offered a prayer of dedication. God appeared to him by night and said to him “I have heard your prayer… When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour your land, or send pestilence among My people, if (condition) My people who are called by My name (People called Christians from every race, nationality, political affiliation, religious denomination) will humble themselves (bow before Him), and pray and seek My face (His forgiveness, His guidance) and turn from their wicked ways, THEN I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.”
I don’t know if God sent COVID or not. But I do know that He is able to heal this land, but we must do our part. What happens when we don’t? It brings judgment on our land. “and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues and they did not repent and give Him glory”.
Every day, and especially on Wednesday, January 26that 6:30PM, let us put our differences aside, unite under God and follow the instructions given to receive His healing of this land.
